GONSO makes Köngen more bike-friendly
GONSO has set up and sponsored two pump and repair stations for cyclists in its local community.
hen it comes to sustainable mobility trends, cycling seems a natural choice. In order to further improve the infrastructure for cyclists in Köngen, two fixed bicycle service stations consisting of a bicycle pump and common tools were permanently installed at the initiative of GONSO and local politicians. Cyclists who need to inflate their tyres or make minor repairs can now do so at their convenience at one of the two public service stations.
Situated in highly frequented locations – on the school centre grounds near Burgschule and in the middle of the pedestrian zone – they’re clearly visible and easy to find.
GONSO’s two managing directors Simone Mayer and Lothar Baisch are both enthusiastic cyclists themselves and pleased with the implementation: “We hope to sustainably optimise the infrastructure available to Köngen’s cyclists, raise the profile of cycling even further, and make cycle paths safer and more accessible with this campaign. Going forward, we’d like to see more people swap their cars for their bikes more often to help protect the environment and do more for their own health”, says Simone Mayer. GONSO sets a good example in this respect, with most of its employees, including the two managing directors, regularly commuting to work by bike.
